 PRINCIPLE
When you desire to fight baldness, it is generally recommended to combine a medical treatment that would stop the hair loss with a surgical treatment to fill in the patches due to alopecia.
Several techniques can be suggested but since a few years the micro hair implants technique is the most popular.
It consists of taking strips of healthy scalp, mainly where the hair is thick and healthy, generally in the occipital area. The strips are then cut into micro grafts carrying each 2 to 5 healthy hairs. They will then be transplanted in the alopecia zones through small punctures.
There will be no residual scar in the area where the strips have been taken.
The area will then be shut with very small and thin “staples” protecting the hair roots. These “staples” will then be taken off on the 8th day.
Several techniques of micro graft implants are used, depending on specific cases:

The “doll’s hair” appearance should no longer be seen.
To obtain a good density as well as thickness of hair depends on the amount of micro grafts, as well as the amount of hair on each micro-graft.
In general, three sessions each of 300 micro-grafts are needed, that is to say 1000 to 2000 hairs in each session, considering an average baldness.
Sessions last approximately 4 hours and this intervention requires a ½ day stay in the clinic.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING SURGERY INTERVENTION ?
It is not necessary to be fasting as a local anaesthesia will be performed. You will be lying down for approximately a ¼ of an hour on your abdomen, in order to withdraw the strips. Next, you will be comfortably settled down and the surgical team will then proceed to transplant.
You will leave the clinic with a bandage and will be able to wash your hair two days later.
A small treatment will prevent any eventual oedema as well as pain during the first night. The surgery intervention is most of the time well tolerated and painless.
HOW TO PREPARE
No hair cut.
To be in good health.
Do not take aspirin or alcohol or any other medication 8 days before surgery.
RESULTS
The longed-for results can be felt around the 6th month. The implanted hair will fall most of the time between day 10 and 12 after surgery, as well as some small scabs. The roots having been preserved will give birth to healthy and good quality hair starting in the 3rd month.
The results are most often natural and long-lasting. A second session can be done, if necessary, 3 to 6 months later.
COMPLICATIONS - FAILURE
Bleeding and over infection are very rarely present.
Quasi constant fresh growth of hair can sometimes be slower and of lesser quality. This often happens with patients in bad general health.

A 5 to 7 days stay in Tunisia is recommended, so 24 hours hospitalization is needed.
CONCLUSION
This is a minor surgical intervention, accomplished in a couple of sessions and with permanent results.
