 PRINCIPLE
This intervention’s goal is to give a young aspect back to the aging face. Aging is noticeable by the collapse of the eyebrow at the external angle of the eye, the cheek bones, the cheeks and also the neck.
Plastic surgery enables repositioning of the muscles and skin, thus correcting flabby cheeks, withering, sagging of features. It must provide the patient with a rejuvenated appearance while keeping a natural look. It will work both on the inside and outside of the skin and on the face‘s gleam thanks to a regeneration of the patient’s collagen during the months following surgery.
It is a very positive intervention and can be undertaken relatively early; it is the new trend, which provides better and more natural results.
The scars are imperceptible in the hair, in the ear and most often they disappear with time. Among certain patients, the scars can remain visible (bad skin, tobacco…). They can be attenuated thanks to appropriate treatments.
The face lift reduces certain wrinkles due to prolapse, but does not completely correct the grin when it is severely marked, neither the deep cracks of the skin namely due to extensive exposure to the sun.
Different types of face lifts are attainable depending on the scratches to correct and the patient’s wishes :
 Either anterior face lift located by the cheeks and temples
Either frontal face lift handling both the sagging of the eyebrows as well as the forehead wrinkles
Either total cervical face lift operating on the neck and the outline of the face (not the forehead)
In certain cases, very located lifting of neck
THE ANAESTHESIA
General anaesthesia before the intervention, a photographic file is essential and a medical check-up is practised systematically.
DURATION OF THE STAY IN TUNISIA
To make of your intervention a success, we advise you a stay of 14 days, in order to have the possibility of carrying out a post-surgical control. The hospitalization is of 2 to 3 days.
PRECAUTIONS
Tobacco is a factor of bad healing and cutaneous necrosis.
Untreated arterial hypertension, causing haematoma and long post surgical procedures needs to be addressed and balanced by the medical staff before surgery.
THE RESULT
Results are at their best around the 3rd month. Before that, the scars can be slightly red and the general aspect of the face is at times still swollen; all this will depend on the type of skin and the importance of the face lift.
The hooking scars are found in the hair or at the limits of the hair and they are completed most often by a discharge incision in the ear which diminishes rapidly as it does not handle pulling.
In order to forget about the face lift, three months to one year are needed on a case to case basis. Durant this amount of time you will be seen by a specialist who is there to guide you and advise you.
On a long term basis, results need to be natural showing someone who is “fit” and looking good. The face lift has no negative effect on the subsequent aging.
Results are most often natural and efficient but also durable, taking in consideration genetic programming of aging, good hygiene of life and health. Touch ups are always possible.
COMPLICATIONS – FAILURE COMPLICATIONS
Haematoma are the main complication due to the important lifting of the skin in certain cases. They are unpredictable and will increase the post surgical recovery; nevertheless they will in no way alter the long term results.
You are fit to be seen starting the 15th or 21st day; depending on each case a reduced sensitivity in the cheeks can be felt momentarily as well as a tendency to swell and an oppression sensation. |
