 PRINCIPLE
The upper eyelids :
It consists of a resection of excess skin including or not a resection of the fatty pouch located on the internal angle of the eye.
The residual scar will become invisible in a couple of months, hidden within the line of the eyelid and disappearing outside into “the goose’s-leg”(external expression lines of the eyes).
The lower eyelids :
In certain cases the surgery will consist of either taking off fatty pouches or taking off an excess of skin from these pouches. In this case, the scar, located at the base of the lashes, will sometimes extend outside, within the goose’s-leg. This scar will also disappear very quickly.
THE SURGERY
The surgery wills most of the time take place under local anaesthesia in order to preserve your natural look. It will take approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes on a case to case basis. Hospitalisation is required for a couple of hours.
PRE SURGICAL CHECK UP
Blood test with or without ophthalmologist exam, in order to rule out any contra-indication in your case.
POST SURGICAL SITUATION
The eyelids are somewhat marked During a period ranging from one to two weeks and it is recommended to wear dark glasses during that period of time. Stitches are removed between the 4th and 6th day.
YOUR STAY IN TUNISIA
A one week stay in Tunisia is recommended, so 24 hours hospitalization is needed.

RESULTS
Improvement is often long term. The fatty pouch does not come back but the skin can eventually slacken again with the aging process. For certain patients, a scar line persists after one year. It is the most spectacular rejuvenation surgery and generally the first to be carried out. |
